So you finally came out of stealth mode at the end of last month to show your fluffy face to our lovely readers?

Fluffystealthkitten says:

Yes I did. I needed more fresh air. Plus my box had to be taken to get its annual servicing.

Furrywisepuppy says:

Some people have remarked that your gender looks more like male when just looking at your picture because you are mostly the colour blue.

Fluffystealthkitten says:

Hmm, that’s not right of them. My gender is female. I’m a female kitten.

Furrywisepuppy says:

I suppose you do have some pink parts like your inner ears, nose and claws.

Fluffystealthkitten says:

Well lots of male humans have pink ****s but this doesn’t make them female, does it?! I am a female feline because I am a female feline.

Furrywisepuppy says:

An excellent point made… Fluffystealthkitten wrote “pink hands” by the way.

Fluffystealthkitten says:

No I didn’t.

Furrywisepuppy says:

Naughty kitten.

Fluffystealthkitten says:

Gender stereotypes are mostly unhelpful. Women can be firefighters, racing drivers, footballers or gamers for instance. Girls can be interested in motorcycles, engineering, science fiction, dinosaurs or whatever. We can like, wear or be the colour pink too, or not.

Furrywisepuppy says:

I totally agree, especially with these non-binary and gender fluid identities.

Fluffystealthkitten says:

Okay, males and females are different in some ways – we cannot say that they are exactly the same biologically, physiologically or therefore psychologically without being unscientific – but this doesn’t mean they cannot be treated equally. So a gender-neutral upbringing, although difficult in the prevailing current culture, is still worth trying.

Furrywisepuppy says:

But a counter-argument could be that if one raises a girl more like a boy or neutrally, we might ask what’s wrong with girls being girls? Soft ‘female’ qualities are very useful and valuable in society too, and are arguably in short supply right now in some contexts, even if these qualities pay less than ‘male’ qualities in general.

The same with boys being boys. And we may argue that the free market decides ‘pink for girls, blue for boys’ and what’s wrong with the free market? And well, however a child is raised – as a boy, girl or neutrally – it won’t ultimately be the child’s choice!

Fluffystealthkitten says:

These are valid points I suppose. Whatever the case, gender stereotypes are overall dumb, and everybody, whatever their gender identity, should be treated more equally and be inherently born with equal freedoms.

Furrywisepuppy says:

I cannot find a way to reasonably dispute that. Woof.

Fluffystealthkitten says:

Meow!
