I tranquillised five mice, one hedgehog, three squirrels, four sparrows, two magpies, one robin, three pigeons and most importantly of all – that old, white, male, fat cat from down the road who keeps on trying to pilfer my turf.

I just don’t know why but I seem to have a frequent urge like I’ve got to catch them all – all sorts of creatures, big, small, bad as well as cute, and for some reason I must then bring them into the house too.
But I do always let them all go again, peaceably and unharmed… well apart from a little fuzzy headache.

Catching animals and bringing them into the home is what felines instinctively do. Although using a tranquilliser gun is highly unusual and I’m glad you let all the creatures go in the end.

Well after some time in the paddling pool practising my doggy paddle, I made some ice cream and had tried to invite you but couldn’t find you. So I invited five mice, one hedgehog, three squirrels, four sparrows, two magpies, one robin, three pigeons and a fat cat from down the road to try it. But for some reason they never came.

If it’s also swelteringly hot where you are today then please slip on a shirt, slop on some factor 50+ sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on some UV protection glasses (which don’t need to be tinted/shades by the way); and drink enough water, and get some ice cream if you like it too!
